The Hearth
The Hearth gathers at 5:30 PM on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month at the Harrisburg Quaker Meeting House.
The Hearth meets in the Library which is on the 1st floor of the Quaker Meeting House. It is accessible by a lift for by stairs.
The Hearth
The Hearth is an in-person gathering held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 5:30 PM at the Harrisburg Quake Meeting House. These gatherings lean into the circle way practice which makes space for reflection, sharing, deep listening, and storytelling. The Hearth meets in the library on the 1st floor of the Quaker Meeting and around an actual hearth.
The hearth is often the center of a home. The hearth makes a gathering cozy. It provides warmth and welcomes family members and guests to relax and tell stories.
The Hearth of The Circle Hbg is this type of space and gathering. It is a place of welcome and belonging, where those gathered are invited to arrive honestly and without judgement. Come as you are and gather at The Hearth.
Saints & Sages Series
This year (2026-2027), The Hearth will explore Saints & Sages. These are individuals who have challenged the status quo and made a difference in other’s lives. They may be individuals who the Christian church considers an actual saint or they may be individuals who do not claim any religious traditions and yet got into good holy trouble. We will consider great saints and sages such as Rumi, Mr. Rogers, Julian of Norwich, Marsha P. Johnson (of the Stonewall riots), and Rabbi Regina Jonas.
Together, we will consider these saints and sages’ lives and teachings, engage in creative spiritual practices, and make space for shared reflection and wondering.
