The Spark

The Spark meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM at Consciousness Coffee in Lemoyne. The Spark will make space for sharing, reflection, deconstruction, and hopefully healing from harmful theology and oppressive readings of religious texts. Many within the queer community have been deeply wounded by religious communities that have preached exclusion and judgement. Many have had to choose between their identity and trust in a loving creator.

The reality is, however, that rigid, exclusionary, and intolerable readings of religious texts have alienated and hurt many people, not just those within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The Spark is a safe space in which to explore the way oppressive readings and theologies have shaped our world view. We will unpack some of the texts, reconsider theological viewpoints, and hopefully find a more loving and celebratory reading that makes space for the fullness of who we are created to be in this world.

The Spark is the place to bring your questions, your doubts, your wounds, and even your anger. Together we will seek healing and tend to our spirits with expansive love.
